Product Description

Scotch Fine Line Tape 218 is a green polypropylene-film fine-line masking tape for producing crisp paint edges on straight lines and sweeping curves. Its natural-rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive provides high instant adhesion, while the low-profile backing supports color separation and conforms around corners. The tape resists most solvents and moisture and withstands bake cycles up to 121 deg C for 30 minutes. Typical construction values include 0.13 mm total thickness, 720% elongation at break, and 22.8 N/cm tensile strength. It is used for fine-line masking in specialty vehicle, automotive, rail, marine, aerospace, two-tone, multicolor, and custom graphic finishing.

Key features

  • Crisp color separation: The low-profile backing and high adhesion support sharp paint lines on straight and sweeping layouts.
  • Solvent and moisture resistance: The tape resists most solvents and moisture during supported paint-finishing work.
  • Bake-cycle capability: The applied tape withstands bake cycles up to 121 deg C for 30 minutes.

Applications

Applications include fine-line paint masking, two-tone and multicolor layouts, custom graphics, and specialty vehicle, automotive, rail, marine, and aerospace finishing.
